This article applies to all printers directly purchased through foreUP. Any other printers (regardless of make and model), including other webprint printers, may not be compatible. If you have any questions about receipt printer compatibility, please call foreUP Support or speak with your Account Manager.
To get started, follow the initial setup steps below:
1. Unbox your printer
2. Connect the printer to the power supply included in the box. Plug into power source.
3. Using an ethernet cable, connect the printer (ethernet port located in the back of the printer) to your network by plugging the other end of the ethernet into an ethernet switch or directly into your router.
Note that this printer will NOT connect directly to the computer. You will not need to "install" the printer or download any software.
Now that your printer has power and is hooked into your network follow the steps below to start using the printer:
1. Power off the printer
2. Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the router.
3. Press and hold the "FEED" button.
4. While holding the "FEED" button, turn the printer on. Keep holding the "FEED" button until the printer begins printing.
5. The printer will communicate with the router, and while this is happening the LED lights will be blinking.
6. The printer will print a receipt. Disregard the first receipt.
7. The printer will then print a second receipt. At the bottom of the receipt, you should see an IP address listed. This means that the printer and the router are communicating. If you do not see the IP address, ensure that the router and printer are properly connected and repeat steps 1-7. If the problem persists then you may need a new router. (Netgear routers are commonly incompatible with this printer. Usually N Series Netgear Routers)
