Overview
This article will go over how to open and close tickets or tabs in the foreUP Food & Beverage module.
- Part One: Opening an F&B Ticket or Tab.
- Part Two: Closing an F&B Ticket or Tab.
Preconditions:
Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.

Access to the F&B Module.
Steps: Part One
Follow the below steps to open an F&B ticket or tab:
- Using the top-left module dropdown menu, select the Food & Beverage module.
- Click on an Open Table or click on "+New Tab" if the ticket doesn't need to be associated with a table (e.g.: To-go orders, bar orders, etc.)
- OPTIONAL:
- Customers - Attach customers from your foreUP Customer Database to the ticket or tab.
- Table Name - Assign a custom table name to more easily differentiate different orders.
- Guest Count - Assign a table count which could be tied to auto-gratuity.
- Add F&B Items to the ticket or tab by clicking Items on the Menu or "Search food & beverage items..."
Steps: Part Two
Follow the below steps to close an F&B ticket or tab:
- Option 1: Closing Individual Tickets or Tabs.
- Click on "Print Receipt" to print a receipt for the customer prior to completing the transaction.
- After the payment method has been taken, click on one of the green Quick Pay buttons to process the transaction.
- After completing the transaction you will be taken back to the main Food & Beverage module screen. (Optional: If you have a foreUP purchased receipt printer setup with your F&B terminal a receipt will print with a tip line)
- Option 2: Closing Split Tickets or Tabs.
- In the F&B module, select on Open Ticket and click the "Pay Now/Split" button.
- Click on "Print" on each receipt to print a receipt for the each customer prior to completing the transaction.
- After the payment method has been taken, click on either "Cash" for cash payments or click "Pay" for other payment options to process the transaction.
- If only one receipt has been processed you will see this in the Pay Now/Split Screen. (Optional: If you have a foreUP purchased receipt printer setup with your F&B terminal a receipt will print with a tip line for the first transaction)
- After completing all transactions you will be taken back to the main Food & Beverage module screen. (Optional: If you have a foreUP purchased receipt printer setup with your F&B terminal a receipt will print with a tip line for the last transaction)
