How to Set a Default Tax Rate for Inventory Items

This article will follow the steps to adding a default tax rate to inventory items.

Preconditions

Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.

• Must have access to the Settings module
• Must have the Inventory module

Steps

Follow the below steps to add a default tax rate to inventory items:

1. Go to the "Settings" module > "Sales" section (on the left) > "Taxes and Returns" subsection

2. Set your default tax names and rates in the "Taxes and Returns" area.

3. Select "Save Settings" in the upper right-hand corner to update.
