Activating Credit Card Devices

Overview:

This article explains the steps for activating a Lane 3000 credit card device for foreUP payments. 

Preconditions:

Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.

• foreUP Payments implemented
• Sales terminals created

Steps:

1. Start by navigating to the settings module. On the left hand menu select Sales then Printing and Terminals. On the Printing and Terminals page select Manage Credit Card Devices.
2. In the top right hand corner of the Manage Credit Card Devices screen, select Add Device.

3.  This will open the Register Credit Card Device screen where you will input your device credentials. Complete the following fields as instructed below:

   • Device Name - Typically, the name of the terminal you are syncing to

   • Device Type -  Select “Lane 3000” from the drop down

   • Activation Code - Enter the activation code that populates on the device once the is plugged in via ethernet and is able to access the internet 

   • Terminal: Select the terminal the device will be synced to

4. When you have finished populating the device credential information, select Register Device. This will reboot the device, the process of which will take a few minutes.

5. Once the device is back on it is activated and ready for use.
