When trying to find a specific transaction, you will always need to search the “Authorization” tab first. Once the card is swiped, it then turns into an authorization (puts a hold on the funds in the customers bank account).
- The authorization will have the date, time, and amount of the transaction.
- After the end of the night, the authorization is captured and then turned into a transfer, at this point the money is then transferred out of the customer’s bank account.
- This all happens during the night, so when you find the transfer of a transaction, it will usually have an odd time around 2am. Therefore, we search for the Authorization first.
- Use the left hand navigation menu to access Authorizations under the Payments expander.
- Use the Filter button in the top left of the screen to refine your search. Use the Clear button to remove the filters you have set. Use the Done button to set your filters and search the data.
- Click the Authorization you are looking for to access the details of the transaction
- Copy the Trace ID that starts with FNX and put the trace ID into the search bar. The Trace ID will have the authorization, and the corresponding transfer that is all related to the same transaction.
- Click the Settlement link that has populated at the top of the screen, just below the search bar. This is the settlement that transaction is included in.
