Overview
The Sales Item Report in foreUP provides detailed, item-level sales data to help you understand what is selling, how much revenue items generate, and which employees are selling them. This report is ideal for inventory management, staff performance reviews, and pricing or merchandising decisions.
Preconditions
Before running the Sales Item Report, confirm the following:
- You have access to the Reports module in foreUP.
- Your user role has permission to view Sales and New Reporting.
- Departments, categories, and subcategories are set up consistently.
- Sales data exists for the date range you plan to review.

Steps
Access the Report
- Open the Module dropdown.
- Select Reports.
- In the left-hand menu, select New Reporting.
- Click Sales.
- Select Sales Items.
Set the Date Range
Choose a date range that fits your analysis:
- Custom date range
- Preset ranges such as:
- Last 7 days
- Last month
Customize Columns
You can show or hide columns based on the data you want to review.
Common columns include:
- Item name
- Quantity sold
- Total revenue
- Discounts
- Taxes
- Employee first and last name
- Terminal
- Sale ID
- Customer information
To add or remove columns:
- Click the link that says Showing # of # columns.
- Choose wich data points you want to display.
- Click anywhere outside of the dropdown to close the Column Chooser and the report will automatically update.
Apply Filters
Filters help you narrow the report to specific data.
Example: View sales for a specific employee
- Click Add Filter.
- Choose Employee Last Name or use the search bar to search for a parameter.
- Click into the box displaying Employee Last Name.
- In the Type a value field, enter the employee’s last name.
- The report will automatically update and only items sold by that employee.
Other common filters:
- Department
- Category
- Terminal
- Item name
- Customer
- Sale ID
Export or Save the Report
- Sales Item Reports can be exported for use in Excel or accounting workflows.
- Reports can be saved to reuse the same columns and filters in the future.
