Overview
Golf Courses will now have the ability to allow Gift Cards and Rainchecks to be redeemed online.
Preconditions
- foreUP Payments, Worldpay, TriPOS
- Customer Checkout Enabled
- If you do not have access to Customer Checkout and are using foreup payments, worldpay, or TriPOS please reach out to foreUP Support
Steps
Gift Cards & Rainchecks
To allow for gift cards and rain checks to be redeemed after Customer Checkout is enabled:
- Use the Home dropdown and select Settings.
- Within the left-hand column, click “Online Customer Portal”
- Select Online Reservations in the middle column. Then, within the Online Reservation Groups window, select a reservation group.
- Make sure that prepayment is set as “Optional” or “Required”
- Click “Available Payment Methods” and select which payment method you would like golfers in this group to be able to redeem online.
- Select Save Changes.
Once a payment method has been enabled, golfers will be able to see Gift Cards or Rainchecks attached to their customer profile.
In the instance they have a Raincheck or Gift Card not attached to their profile (for instance they were checked in as a “Guest” when they received their raincheck and received a receipt with a Raincheck number, or they received a Gift Card as a gift), golfers are able to add this to their account by:
- Selecting the “Add Gift Card or Raincheck” button
- To apply a Raincheck or Gift Card to the transaction, they can click the radio button.
- Split Payments are supported, so in the instance the transaction total is $50, but their gift card is only $25, they can redeem their gift card and charge the remaining $25 on their credit card.
NOTE: Rainchecks have values for green fees and cart fees, and cannot be redeemed for anything else. Gift Cards can be restricted to a certain inventory department or category. If the payment method cannot be applied to anything in the bag, the balance will be grayed out cannot be selected.
