Overview
This article will explain how a multi-course operation (MCO) employee can set up and use a single-sign-on (SSO) account. The MCO employee will then only have to remember one login and password and be able to log in and access all courses in the MCO.
Preconditions
The following conditions must be met before starting on the instructional steps below:
- The employee must already be set up as an employee (see this article for how to create an employee) in each of the foreUP accounts/instances they wish to add to their SSO account (e.g.: I work for a 3-course MCO and need access to all three foreUP accounts for my three courses. I need to be set up as an employee with all the applicable permission settings enabled in all three foreUP accounts before I can set up and use an SSO account)
- The same email address must be used for every employee profile created in each of the foreUP accounts in the MCO (e.g., I get set up as an employee in course A with all of the applicable permission settings enabled. When I get set up as an employee in course B, I must use the same email address that was used in my employee profile in course A.)
Set up a Single-Sign-On Account
Once the preconditions above have been met, follow the steps below to set up an SSO account:
- Go to auth.foreupsoftware.com
- Click Sign Up
- Fill in all fields on this page (PLEASE NOTE: you MUST use the same email address that was already used in your employee profiles in your foreUP accounts)
- Once you have filled out all fields on the page above, click SIGN UP
- You will be sent a verification email. Go to that email and click Confirm my account
- Once you have clicked that link, you will be brought to a "Success" confirmation page. On that page, click the word Here to go back to the log in page auth.foreupsoftware.com
- Click Login
- Type in your email address and password and click Continue
- You will be asked to authorize the foreUP app. Click Accept
- You will be brought to the SSO dashboard page. Under the Available Courses section, you will see all of the foreUP accounts that has an employee profile that matches your email. Click Adopt next to all of the courses you wish to adopt into your SSO account
- Once you have adopted all courses you wish to add to your SSO account, you can now click Login to log into that foreUP account
- Moving forward, you do not need to remember the individual employee login and password for each foreUP account in your MCO. You only have to remember your email and password for your SSO account, and you will be able to log into each foreUP account in your MCO!
FAQ
Q: When I log into my SSO account, one of the foreUP accounts I am set up as an employee is not showing in my Available Courses section to adopt. Why?
A: Double check that in each of your employee profiles you have set up in the various foreUP accounts in your MCO is set up with the SAME email address
Q: What if we add a new course to our MCO with a new foreUP account and I get set up with an employee profile in that foreUP account. How do I add that foreUP account as part of my SSO account?
A: The next time you log into your SSO account after you have been set up as an employee in that new foreUP account, it will show in your Available Courses section to adopt as long as you used the same email address.
