This article will follow step by step instructions for suspending a sale.
Preconditions:
Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.
- Access to the Sales module
Steps:
Follow the below steps to suspend a sale:
1. Go to the Sales module
2. Ring up inventory items into the shopping cart. If applicable, add the customer to the sale.
3. Select 'Suspend Sale/Start Tab'
4. Within the pop-up window, assign the sale a number or give it a custom name in the 'Label' field and click 'Suspend'. Note: If the customer attached to the sale does not have a credit card on file, it is recommended that you save a credit card to the suspended sale by selecting 'Save Credit Card', but it is not required.
5. Your suspended sale will display under 'Suspended Sales' along the right side of the Sales module
6. When you are ready to close out the suspended sale, click on the sale to bring it back to the shopping cart
7. From the shopping cart you can add more items to the transaction and re-suspend it by selecting Save Sale - # or Label or collect payment and close out the transaction.

Q: Will a suspended sale auto-close at the end of the day?
A: No, a suspended sale will not auto-close. Each suspended sale will need to be manually completed.
