How to Split Payment in the Sales Module

Overview:

The foreUP Point of Sale provides the ability to split payments with different payment types. This article will follow step-by-step instructions for splitting payment within the Sales module. 

Preconditions:

Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.

• Must have the Sales module
• Must have completed Merchant Processing onboarding and have credit card devices set up

Steps:

Follow the below steps to split a payment within the Sales module:

1. Go to the Sales module

2. Add items into the shopping cart and select 'Pay Now'

3. In the 'Amount' field, enter a portion of the total sale and select the payment method for this portion of the sale.

4. The remaining balance will then display. Repeat Step 3 to continue splitting the payment or select the payment method to cover the remaining balance and complete the transaction.
