How to Set Up a Credit Card Percentage Fee

Overview:

Adding a Credit Card Percentage Fee will charge a set percentage to every transaction paid for with card.

• Part One: Credit Card Fees in the Point of Sale Module
• Part Two: Credit Card Fees in the Food & Beverage Module
• Part Three: Credit Card Fees in the Online Customer Portal

Preconditions:

Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.

• Access to the Settings module.

Steps: Part One

Follow the below steps to set up a credit card percentage fee in the Sales module:

1. Go to the 'Settings' module.

2. Select the 'Sales' tab and stay in the 'Point of Sale' subtab.

3. Enter your Credit Card Fee.

4. Make sure to hit 'Save' when you're finished.

Steps: Part 2

Follow the below steps to set up a credit card percentage fee in the Food and Beverage module.

1. Go to the 'Settings' module

2. Select the Sales tab and the Food and Beverage subtab

3. Enter your Credit Card Fee

4. Make sure to hit 'Save' after you've entered your credit card fee

Disclaimer: Prior to setting up a credit card fee in the online customer portal, a foreUP ACH account will need to be setup. This article outlines the steps to setting up a foreUP ACH account

1. Go to the 'Settings' module

2. Go to the Billing tab

3. Select "Enable credit card convenience fee" and enter a Fee Percentage, Dollar Amount, or Both. If you opt to enter both, the software will apply the fee based on the option selected in the "Whichever is" drop-down.

4. Make sure to hit 'Save' after the credit card fee has been entered
