Preconditions:
Preconditions are the necessary settings, permissions, and items created in your software to allow the feature to work.
- Must have the Sales module
- Must have already issued a physical gift card to a customer or to the customer profile
Steps: Part One
Follow the below steps to redeem a physical gift card:
1. Go to the Sales module.
2. Add the items intended for purchase with the gift card into the shopping cart.
3. Click "Pay Now".
4. Click "Gift Card".
5. Swipe gift card or manually enter in the gift card number and click submit.
Steps: Part Two
Follow the below steps to redeem a digital gift card from a customer profile:
1. Go to the Sales module
2. Add the items intended for purchase with the gift card to the shopping cart
3. In the Customer Search bar, add the customer profile for the customer wanting to pay with the gift card on their account, and select 'Gift Cards'. Any gift cards previously issued to the customer profile will display here.
4. Select 'Pay' next to the gift card the customer would like to use. This will automatically complete the transaction if there are enough funds on the gift card to do so or leave a remaining balance to be paid by the customer.

A: The foreUP payments credit card devices, as well as Stripe devices, cannot read the Magtek strip on the back of the gift card. The gift card ID will need to be manually entered in the Sales module when being redeemed.
